The History of the Cabin at Mount Pilchuck
The lodge you will be staying in was originally
constructed as a ski rental building during the glory years at the
ski area on Mount Pilchuck. After the ski area was shut down in the
late 70's, the lodge was brought down the mountain by truck, but
there was no way to get it past the bridge on the highway. So it sat
by the side of the road until Gayle Whitsell purchased it and had it
moved to his lot on the river. There it sat on blocks for two
decades, until his son Brad decided to turn it into a rental lodge
for those who want to get away from their busy lives for a few days
of peaceful rest.
